Brooklyn Earick Rules Out Spurs Buyout Proposal After Approach

Daniel Levy directed Tottenham's move to the state-of-the-art venue in 2019.

US technology mogul Earick has dismissed launching a buyout proposal for the North London club.

Spurs had before “unequivocally rejected” an unofficial approach from a syndicate led by Brooklyn Earick last month and maintained the team was not for sale.

Yet the nation's corporate governance laws dictated that, after an expression of interest turned down, Earick's consortium had to submit a bid by 24 October or declare they would not do so.

Confirmation of the decision was made in a announcement issued by the club to the financial markets, confirming the club is “not in an acquisition window.”

The entrepreneur shared an image of the release on digital channels, adding: “I've had a pleasure interacting with Tottenham Hotspur and the owners' agents over the past few months.

“I have high regard for the organization, its executives, and its fans, and desire continued achievements.”

Tottenham's directors thanked the group for its “constructive approach” in talks and for “acknowledging the definitive view” of the owners that the team is not for sale.

Brooklyn Earick is a ex-disc jockey who also worked in aerospace studies for the space agency before establishing his technology firm, which focuses on tech, entertainment, sport and leisure.

The informal offer was the third expression of interest turned down by the club's board since the abrupt resignation of executive chairman Daniel Levy in last month.

Earlier in September, the organization declined approaches from former Newcastle United shareholder Amanda Staveley's PCP International and a group headed by Kennedy and Wing-Fai Ng through Firehawk Holdings.

The former chairman and his relatives control about thirty percent of Enic Holdings – which has an majority stake in the club.

He was the English top flight's most enduring chair and is believed to have earned in excess of fifty million pounds during his almost quarter of a century in the capacity.

Yet he was also the subject of regular protests by Tottenham supporters, especially last season as domestic league results turned out unsatisfactory.

Spurs secured their major honor in nearly two decades when they overcame Manchester United in last season's Europa League final.
